The North Bergen ZIP code directory is a way to check delivery geography before moving into local records. Entering a full address can confirm its postal form and can reveal whether an apartment, directional street name, or accepted place name changes the result. That still does not identify a person. For North Bergen, New Jersey, use a ZIP result alongside the municipality, parcel identifiers, and recorded legal description. The most dependable search keeps those roles separate: postal data handles delivery, while the assessor and county record systems handle parcel and ownership questions.

North Bergen ZIP Code Directory Coverage

Official North Bergen-specific sources identify one local postal ZIP: 07047. State tables list it as North Bergen in Hudson County. It is the starting postal label for the township, not a municipal boundary map or a list of residents. The U.S. Postal Service must still test the complete address, including unit information where applicable. Nearby ZIPs can belong to other municipalities even when a street name or local description sounds close to North Bergen.

The former Meadowview classified station does not create an additional local ZIP. USPS Postmaster Finder records its discontinuation in 2017 while retaining North Bergen as the last line for 07047. ZIPs 07093, 07087, 07022, 07072, 07094, and 07307 are associated with neighboring municipalities, not automatic North Bergen parcels.

North Bergen ZIP Code Postal Test

The USPS ZIP Lookup is the right first check for a full mailing address. Its documented modes are By Address, By City and State, and Cities by ZIP. The address mode calls for a street address and city and state, while an apartment or suite can be added. USPS warns that a ZIP result does not confirm a person or a company at the address, and it cannot guarantee an address shown is an actual business location.

  1. Enter the complete street number, direction, street type, unit, city, and state in the USPS address route.
  2. Keep the returned ZIP and ZIP+4 exactly as the postal tool formats them.
  3. Confirm the municipality and parcel with a tax or GIS source before using a name or deed record.
  4. Use block, lot, qualifier, and legal description when postal labels and parcel records do not align.

USPS may normalize abbreviations. That is a delivery convention, not a change in the parcel. A North Bergen mailing address can appear on an owner record for a parcel elsewhere, while a North Bergen parcel can have an owner mailing address outside the township.

Finding Residents by North Bergen ZIP Code

A ZIP-wide people search is not a documented feature of the local record portals. The North Bergen assessment search is organized by Hudson County, North Bergen district, property location, owner name, block, lot, and qualifier. NJGIN Property Explorer is organized by address, county, municipality, block, and lot. The voter status tool is person or address based, and the reviewed statewide statistics are organized by county or electoral district rather than ZIP.

Use the ZIP to narrow and normalize an address, then use the address to search the local sources. The assessment card can show a titled owner, situs, mailing address, and parcel identifiers. It does not enumerate every person at an address. When a ZIP has narrowed the location to a street, the North Bergen Street Directory has the fuller address-keyed chain.

Note: A postal result is a first check, while the assessor district and parcel identifiers provide the North Bergen record match.

North Bergen ZIP Code Boundary Checks

ZIP boundaries and city limits are different maps. North Bergen sits in dense North Hudson geography beside Jersey City, Secaucus, Guttenberg, West New York, Union City, Weehawken, and other nearby municipalities. Postal city labels and accepted place names need not mirror the legal boundary. The research also notes historical and modern association of 07047 with parts of Secaucus in third-party mapping, which is why USPS alone cannot decide the municipality of a parcel.

Use the NJGIN Property Explorer or Hudson County GIS to check address, county, municipality, block, and lot. Then compare that result with the local assessment district and the Register's legal description. County parcel edges may not match perfectly across county lines, and owner names are redacted from statewide hosted NJGIN parcel and tax downloads under Daniel's Law.

The successful NJGIN Property Explorer capture shows the statewide parcel route used for that cross-check.

This state map route is strongest for locating and checking a parcel. The local assessment search and Hudson Register supply the more direct name and legal-chain evidence when that is lawfully available.

North Bergen ZIP Code Terms

Postal terms should not be substituted for property terms. They describe mail delivery at different levels of detail. For a North Bergen parcel, the legal description and block, lot, and qualifier remain the record cross-check when the street or ZIP is ambiguous.

ZIP and ZIP+4
A five-digit delivery area and its added four-digit delivery detail. Neither establishes who is present at an address.
PO box ZIP
A ZIP used for post-office boxes. It is not a description of a physical parcel or household.
Unique ZIP
A ZIP assigned to a single large addressee or organization. No North Bergen example was identified in the reviewed official sources.
Carrier route
A delivery sequence used by the postal system. It is not a legal municipal or parcel boundary.

North Bergen does not need a newly invented Meadowview ZIP. The official postal evidence keeps the North Bergen last line after the old classified station closed.

North Bergen ZIP Code History and Geography

Modern postal labels also sit on older municipal geography. Hudson County formed in 1840 and North Bergen Township dates to 1843. Earlier directories and census material can use West Hoboken, Union Hill, Hudson City, or Jersey City for a place that a present-day search treats as North Bergen. A ZIP result cannot resolve that historical label.

Rutgers documents Hudson County Hagstrom street and house-number maps for 1881, 1933–36, 1949, and 1957–61. The Library of Congress holds a 1910 Hudson County Sanborn volume with North Bergen as a secondary location. Use those map sources with a deed legal description and tax map when an older address number needs a bridge to a modern parcel.

A ZIP is a useful present-day postal slice. It is not a substitute for an old municipality name, a map date, or an address in a historic directory.

North Bergen ZIP Code Directory Limits

The North Bergen ZIP code directory can verify a postal label and guide an address search. It cannot verify a person, identify all residents on a block, or establish a parcel's legal boundary by itself. Utility customer names and delivery routes are not public resident lists. A tax owner can receive notices elsewhere, and a parcel can contain several units or occupants without showing them on an assessment record.

Use the right map. Check a disputed North Bergen address with USPS, the assessor district, GIS, and the deed legal description before treating any record as a match.

Keep protected addresses and personal identifiers out of research notes shared with others. When official sources conflict, preserve the difference and ask the relevant custodian which record controls its own system.
